Flying to and from Los Angeles

February 23rd, 2009

Los Angeles is one of the biggest tourist and business destinations in the United States. Los Angeles International Airport, otherwise known as LAX, is one of the busiest airports in the country because it serves as the gateway to Southern California as well as a travel hub from the mainland United States to Hawaii, other Pacific islands and Asia.

Apart from LAX , there are several other airports that serve the area, including LA/Ontario, Van Nuys Airport, LA/Palmdale Regional Airport and John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California.

Cheap airfare tickets to Los Angeles are available from several western cities, including San Francisco, Phoenix, Seattle, Denver and Las Vegas. You can find flights to and from each of the cities for under $500 per person.

LAX is used as a hub by four airlines: Alaska Airlines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Air New Zealand.

Los Angeles airport parking at LAX accommodates over 8,000 cars. There are eight parking structures available at the airport, including many handicapped spots. LAX also has a free cell phone waiting lot where people picking up passengers can idle until they receive a phone call and then go to the terminal to get their passengers at the door. The cost of parking at LAX is on a par with all major airports in the United States. Private shuttle buses from local hotels and public transportation are also available at LAX. LAX has a private radio station, 530 am, that broadcasts real time traffic and parking information in order to make your travel in and out of Los Angeles easy and convenient.

LAX’s website has a convenient feature where you can get real-time flight information online. They also have a wizard feature that allows you to plan a trip around the Los Angeles metro area via public transportation.

LAX and the other Southern California airports have done all in their power to make sure that you have convenient passage back and forth from Los Angeles when you fly. It really is a pleasure to fly out of Los Angeles!
